Member Guide

Welcome to NVBCC ChamberLink™

A friendly guide to the chamber's commerce portal and your AI Matchmaking assistant.

Think of ChamberLink as the chamber's digital storefront and matchmaker — always open, always learning, and always pointing you to fellow members first.

What the Platform Is For

ChamberLink is your members-only commerce portal — a smarter way to discover, hire, and team with other NVBCC businesses.

  • Directory: a searchable, filterable list of approved NVBCC member businesses.
  • AI Matchmaking: ask a question in plain English and get a curated list of chamber members who fit.
  • Event Procurement: quickly assemble vendor short-lists for galas, conferences, mixers, and community events.
  • Trust Tiers: see verified and Gold-tier members at a glance so you can buy with confidence.

ChamberLink only recommends NVBCC member businesses. It will never refer you outside the chamber.

Meet Your AI Matchmaking Assistant

The assistant lives in the bottom-right of every page. Tap the chat bubble to open it. You can type — or tap the microphone and just speak.

What it does well
  • Understands natural questions like "I need a caterer for 150 people in Fairfax next month."
  • Filters across categories, services, certifications, and event specialties.
  • Explains why each match was picked.
  • Works on phone, tablet, or laptop — voice or text.
What it won't do
  • Recommend businesses outside the chamber.
  • Invent businesses — if no member matches, it says so.
  • Share your private contact info with other members.

How to Get the Best Matches

The assistant is sharpest when you give it three things: what you need, when you need it, and where.

Try prompts like these
"I'm looking for an AV company for a 300-person gala in Tysons in March. Prefer Gold-tier members."
"Recommend three IT consultants who hold CMMC certifications and serve federal clients."
"I need a photographer and a videographer for a chamber awards night in Reston."
"Who in the chamber can help with AI compliance and government contracting?"
Tips for stronger results
  1. Lead with the service or category ("catering," "legal," "social media").
  2. Add the context: event size, location, deadline, budget range, certifications required.
  3. Mention any preferences — trust tier, women-owned, veteran-owned, MBE, etc.
  4. If the first answer isn't quite right, refine it: "Same question, but in Loudoun County only."
  5. Use the "Quick asks" suggestion chips when you're stuck.

Using Voice Mode

  1. Tap the microphone icon in the chat window.
  2. Allow microphone access the first time your browser asks.
  3. Speak naturally — you can pause, the assistant waits.
  4. Tap the mic again to send, or just stop talking.

Great for between meetings, hands-free moments, or at an event. Works in any modern browser on iPhone or Android.

After You Get a Match

  • Click any business card to view their full directory profile.
  • Reach out directly — introduce yourself as a fellow NVBCC member.
  • If you book a member, let the chamber know — we track member-to-member commerce.
  • Leave feedback in chat so the assistant keeps improving.

A Few Friendly Reminders

  • Member-first: always check ChamberLink before going outside the chamber.
  • Be a good neighbor: respond promptly when another member reaches out.
  • Keep your profile fresh: accurate categories help the AI match you to more opportunities.
  • Privacy: your match requests are visible to chamber admins for reporting; they are never sold or shared.
